Meet some of our people making brilliant service happen

Nicole Orr

Compliance assurance and controls specialist

I initially worked in hospitality and later went to pursue my studies in media hair and makeup at West of Scotland College. My career transitioned to film and television, but the industry's instability led me to join esure in customer service in January 2019.

I moved to the Direct Claimant department during lockdown and eventually joined the Compliance Assurance team through a secondment opportunity in April 2022, which became a permanent position in July 2022.

Despite my initial lack of knowledge about the company and insurance industry, I'm proud of my achievements and appreciate esure's supportive culture. I love my job as it offers diverse challenges and opportunities to explore various business areas, ensuring compliance and customer interests. I've recommended esure to friends for its growth, fast-paced environment, and rewarding opportunities.

Ryan McAllister

Supplier relationship manager

I joined the company fresh out of college, starting in the call centre. I thought this was going to be a "stop gap," but a decade later, I am still here, thoroughly enjoying the journey. After 2 years in the call centre, I transitioned to underwriting, specialising in detecting insurance fraud. I gradually climbed the ranks, becoming one of the more experienced underwriters and a mentor to my colleagues. When remote work was introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic, I embraced the opportunity and secured a permanent role as a Personal Lines Underwriter.

Recently, my career took another exciting turn when I assumed the position of supplier relationship manager, where I apply my expertise in supplier management. Along this journey, I've had the privilege of receiving the Chartered Insurance Institute's (CII) Jubilee Award and Stanley Brown Award. These accolades are a testament to the dedication and hard work that has shaped my career, and working for esure means that you get all the support to achieve and grow in your career. Our office boasts a vibrant location, but the real charm lies in the camaraderie and the ongoing company transformation. It's an exciting time to be part of esure.

Aimee Legowski

Graduate business analyst

I joined the company almost 2 years ago on a graduate programme and I have had the opportunity to work on 6-month rotational basis across different business areas. I have a background in History, Politics, and Human Rights, having completed my undergraduate degree in Joint Honours History and Politics at Glasgow University, and subsequently completing a masters degree in Human Rights and International Politics. I joined esure fresh out of university, drawn by the opportunity to work in their transformation team.

My experience here has been dynamic and rewarding. The company's culture is friendly, ambitious, and supportive, offering a flexible hybrid work environment. I enjoy the fast-paced nature of the role, and the office's amenities, like an arcade room, make office days a treat. At esure, there's a strong commitment to career development and teamwork, and I've made great friends along the way. If you're eager to learn and grow, esure is an excellent place to start your career in the heart of the city.

Training and Competence Manager

Graduate business analyst

My background is a mix of contact centre management, leading teams in learning & development and training & competence, all in the financial sector. I came to esure on a 6month contract back in December 2017 to implement training aspects of the Insurance Distribution Directive and the role grew from there.

Since Dec 2017 I’ve been lucky enough to work on a wide range of learning and development projects including bringing in a market leading Learning Management System with a wide library of content, including our core training activities. We also work hard to ensure that colleagues have access to a range of other learning platforms including LinkedIn Learning, O’Reilly and Pluralsight!

Another great initiative that we started a couple of years ago was to develop seven specially curated Academies that cover topics that are important to esure including data, tech and leadership. These were really interesting to work on and continue to be a focus to ensure that all colleagues have access to development opportunities that suit them and their career goals.

Recently I was involved in working with an apprenticeship provider to build a bespoke, esure only, data apprenticeship programme that has got off to a flying start, with the participants working really well as a community in supporting each other through their development journey.

I would definitely recommend a career at esure Group, we are a diverse, friendly and dedicated community that are striving to fix insurance for good!
